i've been reading the v2.0 manual about note on and real time slider function,
but can someone breakdown the difference between using the after key and realtime, it seems like they basically do the same thing.

in a sense, yes they do the same thing. however, "real time" in this case lets you alter the parameters as you record. where as the "after" key let's you play the effect after the seq is recorded.

Resetting the Q-Link slider value
You can reset (back to the original value) the altered
value of Q-Link slider.
Example : When you control the Tune of the Pad Event
with REAL TIME, the Tune will keep the changed value
after you change the Q-Link slider. If you press the [F5]
(ALL R) key or the [F6] (RESET) key, the changed value
resets to its original value.
