any way to turn off "moniter" option in record mode indef?

is there any way to turn off "moniter" option in record mode indefinitely? i got the main outs of my mackie running into the record ins of my mpc and every time i go to record i gotta turn rec gain all the way down and then hit moniter off so i don't get crazy feedback that wakes up everyone in the building. however, in the heat of the moment, i always forget and nearly give myself a heart attack.

moniter turns itself on every time i wake up my mpc from slumber. this effin' sucks and is really annoying...anyone know how to get around this???

i guess you could use the sends on the mackie rather than the main outs. if it has any, that is!

no problem, just thought it'd be easier to have the sends on the mackie going to the mpc, that way you can switch them in or out depending on whether you're sampling from the mixer or not. which mixer do you have by the way?

120vlz. it's got quarter inch sends, which is what i needed. however, i'm always sampling from either the mixer or the dig in. i've got a nice setup where virtually anything played on any of my devices can be sampled into either my sp404, mpc, or computer. however, feedback is the problem w/ mpc and sp...

that's where the sends come in, you just turn up the send on the channel that you want to sample from, and bam! there you go! sampled.

lol, just a bit of rewiring. glad to help

For those of you with a MOTU 828MkII: a similar solution is possible! you'd just have to setup another mix with an output separate from the main outs going to the mpc. then on that mix, just raise the level of any channel who's audio you want to send to the mpc! simple!

on the mackie, if you want to keep the stereo you can use the alt3-4 bus output, fed by the mute buttons. (and it also frees the aux send for effects)

actually i can still get stereo on the mackie with sends. it's sweet!
