u mean mute and solo a single part like a bass drum or snare??
lay ur beat out on different tracks, then when u want to mute a certain thing, go to the track and click mute or solo

on the 1k there is no way of actually recording the mute/solos. you have to do it manually. something like what eas said above, copy your seqs and then where you want a sound muted, erase that sound on that beat and if you want something solo'd you have to erase everything else but that sound.
maybe in a future os update, there will be actual recordable solos and mutes.

that would do it. however, it's a lot of realtime stuff...which i tend to avoid keeping in my step edit. i like to just resample and keep things neat.

and to the dude who asked the question... no the 't/sig' function does not mute tracks. that changes the time signature of the sequence. to find out what the time signature is, look for a music theory post, im sure youll find one if you search.
