Hi there. I am quite confused about going for a computer setup or an MPC.. I like hardware alot so i would like to go for the MPC but i just bought a new iBook so i was wondering if maybe i could use both in harmony? I know i can record into my computer for a mixdown and burn to cd, but say i go away on vacation and i take my laptop and my midi keyboard in my bag... can i still like bang out beats and then export them to my mpc? Or will that just be a waste? Can someone please help me out and give me some suggestions on how this can be done, or what you would do?
Thanks for your time

Try everything you just mentioned NOW while you are home so in the future you will know your capabilities when you are traveling..

My "out of town" setup is a laptop, MBox, Oxygen 8, Reason 2.5(along with every other recording app. I own), Shure SM57. I basicaly just use this setup as a scratch pad, anything I want to keep, like basslines etc., I just sample and load up into the MPC and redo the drum programming and sequencing in the MPC.

Thanks guys :)

I really want an MPC but i feel it mite be a waste of a laptop, even though i use my iBook for many other things.
I mite get a midi keyboard and maybe a copy of reason?
That should supply me with some powerful tools to make some good samples then put them into my mpc.

Cheers
