samples not showing on hard drive

I just installed a 40G HD in my 1000. I converted about 10G worth of samples to 16bit and moved them over to the 1000's drive. Thay are all in four folders each holding several hundred/thousand samples.
Problem: While attempting to load samples the 1000 is only letting me scroll through the first couple hundred or so samples in each folder. When I plug the 1000 back into my computer to make sure they are there and all 16bit everything seems fine. It's almost like there is a limit to how many files the browser can handle. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks . . .

do a search here in the 1000 section for "folders" AND "size"

I would make sure you've got several folders set up so its not overload to read what's there...memory can act weird as I'm sure many cats have experienced this with cf cards
