I doubt it, since the MPC may not even recognize an NTFS formatted drive, being that the new OS is FAT32. You'll need to use a Windows 98 or Millenium Edtion Statup Disk (floppy) and use the fdisk utility to delete the exisiting NTFS partiton. If you need any help, send me a PM, and I'll walk you through the entire process.

you should be able to. just plug in the drive and format it. it could not hurt the mpc to try. but make sure to format it using the mpc (not via usb to your computer)

Given what you said, it wouldnt hurt to give it a try and save some time.
