I have a track on my mpc playing my access virus (channel a7).
Notes work fine. But when I insert a program change nothing happens.
The virus settings are ok, I checked it from my computer with the same cable.

Anybody has an idea why my mpc isn't sending out a program change ?

Thanks in advance..

Set the PGM field in the MAIN screen to a MID I program number then hit WINDOW and make sure you turn 'Transmit program changes in this track' to YES. Had me stumped at first too.

hey, i haven't been using the 'PGM X' feature yet.. but a dumb question::

Do you have to leave the program field set to 'PGM 8' or whatever?
And if so, how do you name the program something so you can remember what it is?

Or is that PGM selection something you can just go to, select the PGM, then turn it back to whatever you named the program already.

To change a PGM name go to it ith the cursor press window from there it should have something on renaming or making a new one.

Don't get confused between an MPC Program and a MIDI Program change. They are two different things. There are three main settings for this field: OFF, Program, and Program Change. When this field is set to Program, it works the same way as previous OS -- press Window to switch to the Program screen, etc... When you change the field to "Pgm: 1". Then you can switch to the number field and set it to 1-128. If your device needs a bank change as well, then you must press Window to go to the bank change screen. It's at this screen that you tell the MPC that you'd like to transfer these messages. It's a great new feature. I only wish they improve upon it in the future by allowing us to change the default settings for sending the bank/program change messages.
