i just seen the 1k in black and its much nicer looking, but £200 more expensive!!!???... did i read correct!?

that's rediculous, i thought it might have included 128mb RAM at that price. I paid just £70 more for my 2500 from digi village.

If you call them they will probably do it at a much lower price as the list price on the 2500 was £950 and i paid £790

the only reason why i can even think of the price difference is because they are trying to get rid of the overstock blue/red ones cause akai officially discontinued the red/blue.

i'm perfectly happy with my red/ blue one... tho as we all know black is the way forwards....

i can see what you're saying, but surely they'd drop the price of the blue/red ones and make the black ones the old price of the blue/red ones? in an ideal world, of course.....

same situation with german dealers: blue mpc1000s are around 800-830€ while the new black models ship by 995€. don't like that. i think sparq is right - they maybe want to sell all old blue models...
