MPC 1000 in a live DJ set-up?

Do any of you guys use your MPC in a live DJ set-up? If so I’d be interested to hear about your set-up. I am planning to do so, but currently I only have a 2-channel Vestax mixer.

Do you use a three channel mixer? Or connect your MPC to a 2-channel mixer. If using a 2 channel mixer how do you set it up?

- connect the MPC to the line-in of one of the mixers channel (which it will be sharing with a turntable using the phono-in) from the MPCs stereo-out using a 2xjack-2xRCA cable. With the MPC sharing same channel as one of two turntables, I can see this will cause problems when you find yourself with the record you want to mix in/out/over on the same channel as the MPC?

- connect MPC to both channels, again from the stereo out, using a two separate 1xjack-2xRCA cables. You avoid the above problem, but the MPC will be working in mono only?

This has had me scratching my head for a few days. Is there any solution I am missing here, or am I best just to buy myself a three channel mixer?

does your two channel vestax mixer have a session in, or mic in or something? My pioneer 2 channel mixer has 2 rca's off to the side, so you can daisy chain mixers, or add an MPC. which model vestax?

I have a PMC 05 Pro III. A quick check of the manual does not make explicit reference to this.

i Just peeped ya mixer and saw that it doesn't have a session in, so that rules that out... i too am really interested in how the mpc 1000 can be used in a DJ setup, a quick Vid demo would be nice from someone just to get to creative juices flowing... as to connecting the mpc to you mixer... why not use the input thru function on the mpc and connect the mixer through that then send the outs from to mpc to you amp or what ever plus that lets you sample on the fly too

Remember that 1 channel on a dj mixer is actually 1 stereochannel... So you only need 1 channel to work your mpc1000 in stereo.

got any other mixers? i use my mackie 120 vlz. i plug my dj mixer into that, as well as my mpc.

The PMC-05 has an effects in/out, which I have never gone near before. Playing around with it this evening has shown that I can can connect the MPC stereo outs into the mixer as an effect (recv) and achieve pretty much what I want to.

I should really come up with this myself before hand...but sometimes I just need a little nudge to get the brain going.
