Memory??/

hey, i loaded up a sample in the mp...i timestreched it then sliced it into 8 parts and after it sliced i went to press "do it" and it said i didnt have enough memory...but i have 512 mb cf card with only a couple of things on it.....im new to the mp so i havent mastered it yet...can some on tell me what im doing wrong. thanks!

it's talking about RAM not your flash card.

so what can i do then....besides get more ram.... and just use the mpc how it is?

ram is 40 bucks and an easy add on. it's recommended you get it.

don't use more than 16MB.

so i shouldnt need more then the 16 mb...so why after loading, timestreching, then sliceing a sample does it say insufficent memoery?....sorry i know im prolly frustrating people i am just not wrapping my head around it

nah it's all good. what pad was saying was don't use more than the stock 16mb when making beats. he was joking. i'm not joking when i say: you NEED the memory upgrade. for info on that check the 'mpc 1000 ram and cf card reccomendations' sticky.

get yourself the memory upgrade as mentioned in the top of this forum (mpc1000 memory) ( should cost about £25 in the UK)

whats happening is the mpc runs out real quick if you've just got the 16mb standard in there....

to make it really clear, you probably have a bunchof other things loaded which are taking up the 16MB. if you're hell bent on using that sample now, then clear your mpc, then just load that sample so there's nothing else in the machine.

btw....... the next time you buy the flash cards,but a hard drive instead. it's just mobetta
