if you have samples on your computer, you would go the route pad stated. connect your mpc to your computer via usb and choose hard disk and transfer away like you would to your CF card.

but if you have samples on your CF card that you now want to put on your hard drive, you can do that two different ways. you can 1) transfer from CF card to computer via usb and then back to the mpc's hard drive or you can just load your samples from the CF card to the mpc as if you're making a beat and then save to the hard drive.

as you may already know, there isn't a direct way to move files from CF card to hard drive.

thx sparq, will try it.
didnt know, that pc find the mpc hd, when you connect it with usb. i have done transfers allways with a cfcard reader/writer.

another way, i think, is to connect the mpc hd to an external hd case and transfer it direct.
i think, the pc can read the mpc formated hd?

Yep, you can do that but it's a bit of an arse having to remove the hard drive just to place a few files on it. Could be better for backing up lots of data though, although i'd rahter just leave the MPC and PC on overnight or something. I think it sucks that the MPCs only use USB 1.1
