VSTi to mpc through keyboard.

Zuuup, i'm just wondering if it's possible to hook my midikeyboard with sounds from the computer and record it in to the mpc. I'v got a midi out on the keyboard and a usb connection that i'm using to connect it to the computer.

if your using the mp as a sampler.

trigger the midi from your pc - keyboard and fire the sounds into the mp...

sample it then assign what you want in terms of samples to a new track and program...

thats what i've done in the past.

try sending the output of your CPU to the input of your MPC. it should work.

i don't think he wants to sample from the pc, he just wants to use midi info.

yeah, it works. i was pretty stoked about this too. patch your controller into your mpc's midi in, and the mpc's midi out to the pc. hit record in the mpc and then play away on your keyboard. you can even record knob/fader movements. real sick...

Use Chainer. It's awesome!. The demo version let's you select multiple VST's and save the chords or individual key its to wav files. You then transfer those wav files to you cf card and there you go!

There's a free program calleed VSTHost I've been getting into for this. It gives you total control over your VSTs, and you could use it to sample or do control via midi ala what Antonym was describing. It has the benefit of being able to control EVERY parameter of the VSTi, even ones which you cannot see through the GUI, plus a recording feautre, and all in a dedicated environment, so you don't need to load up a big CPU hogging DAW. Plus you can chain VSTi's and VST effects in any order you want, you could rout an output from your MPC into a chain of VST effects, and sample it back into your MPC. It would be great live if you wanted to use your PC and VSTi's as a sound module controlled off your MPC. lets say he did want to do it the way that latee said would that work?putting the output of the cpu to mpc ins to record the audio instead of the midi?

yeah, but only as long as the midi signal is going to the pc one way or another. i resample reason all the time lately.
