my MPC only seems to be able to overwrite when i'm trying to erase using my midi keyboard.

is this how everyone elses MPC 1000 works??
...or can you erase notes ok using midi keys.

tried another midi keyboard but that didn't help. have been through the manual and have tried all menu options. have also searched these forums and found nothing specific like this problem.

will try my friends one to see if it does the same but he's overseas at the mo.

just erase the midi notes on the mpc instead of trying to use the keyboard.

yeah this works ok but i want to play a bass line on the fly live. would be a bit slow having to search for the right pad (that could be on bank A or B)

i guess i could get quick at finding the pad but definitely not ideal.

Make a program setting the midi notes up chromatically.

i'm already trying it with the "arp wave" standard program that is done chromatically.

the problem even remains when i use a regular drum program and also when i use the MPC sequencer to trigger the keys internal sound.

can everyone use midi keys to erase with no problems? i'd like to know if it's a bug with just my MPC or if it's a design thing.
