Please Help me.

Im tired of sampling Melodies with my MPC 1000. So Ive been doing research on keyboads. Then I just learned about racks. Are the racks the same sounds that are found on the keyboard. If I get a rack instead of a keyboard do I have to get a USB keyboard also. And If I get Reason and a USB keyboard like the one Sparq had in that video would I need a rack.

i don't advise that you keep buying new sh!t til you understand what you're doing wrong on the stuff you already have.

Im getting the MPC now. I need advice on the keyboard.

You could go the reason route or buy a rack. I use the emu PK-6 with my mpc and i dont have a problem. May i recommend u start with like a mo phatt or proteus b/c they are easier to use. And from the responses from others you look like you are jus starting. No need to keep buyin and not learnin. Its useless in the end.

see, what works for sparq might not work for you, which could loose you money. so take everyones advice and understand what u have for the mean time.

and yes racks are usually downiszed versions of the keyboard.
dont see how a USB keyboard would help cause Racked Sound Modules dont work via usb (majority) they work via MIDI.

so i suggest doing some reading, visting a friend who does music and learn how it all works rather than jumping in the deep end.

To operate any Rack,you have to have a keyboard of some sort. I recommend a keyboard within your budget ,a midi controller or midi compatable . it can be a controller or any brand like korg,yamaha,esoniq,roland etc. Understanding how to use midi to talk to Reason or any softsynth (On the PC) has to come through midi anyways. USB is ok,but stick to a setup outside the PC first,then work your way in to controlling instruments on the PC later.

Nym , I think you are getting to quick to tell people thet dont know what thier doing. no offense - !

melodies are much harder to make on the 1k compared to a keyboard

I use the Alesis Micron. - it has Alot of preset sounds wich still keep me busy and + you can create your own syn sounds. it has midi in and out + a vocoder. only 400 bucks brand new.
