After setting all my levels and panning, how do I save?

hello.....I was wondering, after I exit the mixer mode, how do I save my sequence so that when i reload it, the pads will keep the adjusted volumes and panning? I think like 11 of the 13 are samples i have created a program with. Ihave tried saving program, sequence......i am a bit lost. It is kind of a pain having to remix it everytime. thank you very much

why dont you save it as a project file?????? then everything you did is saved.

a project file is what you get when you save with "SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY" right?

i just did that a whole bunch of times but it didnt save shî†. the file is on the CF in a folder but it's way outdated.

anyone else get that or know how to fix it?

try saving the project file to the autoload directory.

to clarify (and im really new to the mpc still), there are 2 autoload directories right? if so, do you mean the internal one, or the one on the CF?

no problem. you cannot save anything internally on the 1000. It just cant happen. Everything you save goes on to the compact flash. I usually save everything to the autoload directory so the next time i come back my mpc, it comes right up and then i can continue to work on whatever I am working on.

but what happens when you want to move onto something else? do you put it in a new folder?

i think what messed me up was that i was loading the project file, as opposed to the folder it was in (i.e., load the whole folder)

when i move onto something else, i just transfer all of my files over to my computer in its own folder. then start all over on a new project.

If you want to save your project file over an older one then make sure you set replace files to YES when you press save entire memory. Otherwise it does not overwrite older files. So you will lose all your changes since then.

I did this a number of times before realizing. Save entire memory is the best way to keep a project with all its bits and pieces in the one place. Best way is to make a seperate folder for each song etc. And then save entire memory.
