cf card q's hd q's and os q's

Ok heres my questions 1) if im using my mpc fresh out the box with 16mb ram should i wait till i upgrade my ram before i upgrade my os to 2.10??? Also should i wait to upgrade my os until i get both a harddrive and the expanede ram or 1 or the other or vice versa???? 2) with the 16mb of ram is there any certain size cf cards i should be using with the 16mb ram or are all sizes cf cards fine with any size ram(16--128mb)?? I wanted to ask this question here cuz we all know how persuasive the salesmen can be I put my MPC and ales. micron in layaway and the salesman wanted me to get the akai 128mb ram b4 i even got the s@#t to my crib!!!! oh and b4 i forget to ask this the closaest place to get an hdm-10 is sold out for a hot minute and i was wondering if there are any 3rd party compatible hd adapters that will work(and also b a lil cheaper!!!)???????? G

you DO NOT need the 2.1 OS for the ram upgrade or vise versa
you DO need the OS 2.1 upgrade for a HD
The CF card size isnt based on your ram

The Ram is basicly for your work space. More ram = More sample time and samples loaded up

Bigger CF card = more saving space, same goes for HD
