1000 Hard Drive problem

I purchased a 1000 with a 40gig hard drive used. The drive is in there but on my save and load screens its not picking anything up. and in the format screen the only option i have is the memory card. anybody have a similar problem or any advice, it would be much appreciated. peace

have you tried hi-lighting the MEMORY CARD in the load or save screen and changing it to HARDDRIVE with the DATA WHEEL? If so...Open up the Front of the MPC and remove the plate to make sure you do infact have a hardrive, and if you do, remove the hardrive (it will come out with the bracket) and double check it it properly inserted ALL THE WAY into the metal mounting brace.
