I'm finally going to buy an mpc1000 (after putting it off for new synths a bunch of times) and im curious to know how much I should pay for a 2nd hand mpc with the 128 upgrade and a cf card ( 128/512mb or 1gb)
I will probley get one on ebay and I'm not sure how much is too much.
what do you think.

also as far as loading samples onto the mpc, will I need a CF card reader? or can I just plug the mpc with the cf card into my pc via the USB and drag and drop samples in...i'm hoping thats what it is.

thanks
-Matt

I paid about $650 for mine. no 128, factory memory card. that was before the black model came out. I havent looked at prices, so I don't know if that had anything to do with resale prices if the blue model.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I'm selling an original mpc1000 with the Akai 128MB RAM, Ritter carry case and 256MB CF card WITH sounds and .pgm's preloaded for $650.

you won't need an extra card reader. you'll just work with the mpc and your computer draggin and dropin, there are also some software to built the programs on your pc. i'm not using this but some links for u to check:

I paid $650 for mine, no ram upgrade. Keep in mind that most people selling with the ram upgrade ask way more than the ram costs. As for the card reader, you can just use usb from your mpc. I card reader is faster if you computer has it but just use usb and your good.

Cool thanks guys, I'm searching around for an mpc now.
trehollywood, I sent you a PM
i'm just a little scared to buy one 2nd hand cause of the pad issues I keep hearing about, this thing is going to be the heart of my studio and I don't have alot of money or tech knowledge to fix it if something was wrong with it.
