Are the 1k's 4-outs limiting?

hold up yall got me confused, if there are 4 assignable outs on the 1k, and you can get a separate track by panning left and right, doesn't that mean you can actually have 8 separate tracks coming out of the 1k, not including the stereos and digital?

No, the 4 outs are each mono.

There is 1 stereo out (main out) so it is like 2 mono outs
There are 4 additional outs, each mono
For a total of 6 outputs

Thee is also the digital out, but it outputs the same thing as the Main Out, except digitally, so it's not actually an additional output, it's more of an alternative output.

ahh i got it, so if you did want to track out more than 6 you would just unassign the tracks you already recorded, assign the new tracks and record again?

What do you mean by centering them?

So if i had a song that i wanted routed to 8 separate tracks id have to record the song once with the 6 outs. then mute the already recorded tracks and record again with the remaining tracks routed to their own outs. jus making sure i got recording down b4 i cop a 1k.

By centering them or "recentering them, i just meant taking a stereo track and making them into two mono tracks. This applies to only using one stereo out however.

Yep you got it... so you can see the 6 outs is not really limiting, it just means you might have to make an extra pass or two.
