How do I get my sounds to play at the same time?

Ok, I just choped up a jazz record and want to play it over a drum pattern that I made. Why is it that the sample will not play over the beat? It will only play during the silent moments of the beat. Almost like the MPC can only play one sound at a time. Never happened before. I must of turn on some function that is messing me up. Any suggestions

your program is almost definitely set to mono, go to mode, program, param and look at the top right to poly
