upgrade problems and losing samples

I've contined to have trouble updating my 1K to V2.1......
If someone has a troubleshooting page or step by step
advice it would be much appreciated.

Also, I already have loaded a bunch of samples onto the flash card (1G),
will I lose those samples since upgrading requires you to go through the flash card?

Again, when I attempt to upgrade, my 1k says that there is "no new OS .bin found, will begin loading os in 5 seconds."

Thanks, I really appreciate the help however I followed these
same directions and ran into the problem I described......

I've got a G5 imac if that helps to figure it out at all.....
