Ok im no fool i have routed midi alot but this one stumps the shit out of me. I have a zoom streetboxx which only has a midi in on it which isnt a big deal because i only want to use the sounds from it but i cannot get the kits inside the drum machine to change. I have the midi out of the mpc to the midi in of the zoom and it plays sounds but only 1 kit and i cant get it to change , per the manual it says i can preform program ( kit ) changes but the limited midi options of the zoom ( internal or external ) dont leave me much room to work with. If anyone has any ideas i have been sitting here with the manuals to both the 1k and the zoom in front of me for about 2 hours with no results. I even tried assiginign each kit its own channel to no success. Anyone?

Do the programs/kits on your zoom have the program change #'s listed? What I mean is something listed as MSB#,LSB# and a program change#0-127 or 1-128. these can be inserted into a sequence in step edit on the mpc.

If there's only one bank of sounds, try MSB- 0, LSB-32 pgm #- choose. Put at the beginning of the seq.

First found out what the MSB ID is on this board ,it should be between 0-127. Let me give an example.

Lets say I have a Proteus 2000 w/mo-phat chip in it. If I want to demo a sound usely in the edit mode it will show Pan,volume, name of the instrument, and MSB-number/LSB-Bank number.
Proteus 2000 might have user's banks 0-4 /ID or MSB would be 08 and LSB-Banks would be 0-4. Now that's the user's banks.
Proteus 2000 Program Banks ,MSB might be 04 and however many program banks it has depends-like let's say it has 1-7 banks ,then LSB-0 would be turned to 1-7.

hit me up for more midi info , MSN,AIM
