I have this idea
that if i had a cd recorder
like one of those HHB ones
Id be able to make quick cd run offs of
all the working beats in my MPC
Sometimes its such a process to dump 8 tracks
into Pro Tools and then make a mixdown of a beat
when your not even sure if it was a banger
and worth the extra effort of a 8 outs mix
Plus its annoying to have a ton of pro tools sessions bog down your
computer
So
I was thinking what i need is a cd recorder to make
a big reference disk of beats
anyone on here have this set up?
How does it work?
HOw is the recording quality?
Can you get lucky and get a nice mix straight to cdr?
Does a recorder make mp3's?
Is it as painless and real time as tape recorders used to be?

Why post a question regarding the 2000 in the 1000 section?

On the subject of standalone CD recorders I´d advice you to drop the idea. It´s an expensive unit which requires CD-R media specialized for audio, which is more expensive than regular CD-R´s.

Why not just record two track mixes into your PC without tracking through the individual outs through Pro Tools. Just record your rough mixes and burn a CD-R from your PC, then you can do several copies of one set of beats without recording them over and over to the satndalone CD-R recorder.

heard of tape? I hear thats cheap, quick, and decks are a hella lot cheaper than rackmount cdr things..... you can always resample into your mpc, or pc.

Ok
good points
i always tend to think i need something else
You are right about the pro tools two track thing
but it still gets annoying
im old school and have many tape recorders
and have made tapes of beats
but you cant give that to peeps anymore
especially mc's
handing an mc today is like handing a dj a 78
plus i consider myself lucky if an mc
has at least heard of the last poets
I actually need a mc for a show in nyc on the 31rst
if you like my mypace page holla

sorry bout posting this in the wrong forum
but its kinda a universal thing
still want to hear from someone who
uses the hhb recorder and an MPC
just to hear if there is an upside
