beer spilled into my asr x pro a while back. I did this. All was well.
I opened it up and cleaned it out later on.

im at work, so ill ask real quick since i dont have the manual in front of me, are there instructions inside on how to open it up properly, or a link on this site explaining it. I want to make sure when I do it, I do it right as to not fuk up the circuits and ish.

Step 1: Locate a Screwdriver.

Step 2: Locate the screws that are placed in the outside casing of the MPC.

Step 3: Press the screwdriver firmly onto each screw.

Step 4: Rotate Screwdrive counterclockwise to extract each screw.

Step 5: After all screws have been removed, displace the outside casing from the MPC.

Step 6: Congratulations!!! you have sucessfully opened up your AKAI MPC1000.

what about the red rubber sides? I was tugging on them gently this weekend, and it seemed like they are connected to the circuit boards inside the mpc, and i stopped cuz i didn't want to rpi the thing apart! haha

I always keep booze next to the equipment. Never spilled beer on anything but myself. If your drunk often enough, you'll learn how to handle a bottle (always empty it quikly). First thing to learn about performing live, is to play your shit wasted and learn how to fall off the stage without loosing any contents of your bottle.
