Reasigning a different sample to a track.....????

Hey guys!

I looked in the manual, and searched the forum..and I can't seem to find any information.

OK, here is my problem...I have 3 tracks that are cymbals. On one track I want to change the cymbal (Sample) that I am using to a different cymbal in the same program; BUT, I want to retain the sequence data. Meaning, I want all the data that I recorded for when I tapped the pad to stay, I just want to change the sample that I'm using to a different one....

I know it seems like a stupid question, but, honestly, I've never had to do this......

Use the Parameter copy function in the the program to switch pads, making the pad with the cymbal you like to use replace the first one.

Go into Step edit and manually change the pad nr. on every note on that track.

Or, as a last desperate measure; read the ******* manual.

copy the program and make it like program2 or something. change the samples in the program mode.

I think you can use the transpose function for this. Assign your new cymbal to a pad, and write down the note number for both the original and new samples (you'll find that info in the program pages), and then transpose the cymbal hits you'd like to move from one pad to the other.

I haven't tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work...

What exactly is transpose used for??

To shift notes/pads up or down to a diff note/pad, i think
