What sound card or recorder do you use?

I had a Audigy 2 platinum EX and the internal board went bad, so I was wondering what everybody else used for a sound card or recorder? I was thinking of getting this one here ----> http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-EMU-8607EFG--m-04--brand-86.html#

Or should I just get a recorder and stay with all hardware and no pc?

i use a steinberg VSL2020 soundcard (20 in/ 20 out) which has 16 channels of ADAT i/o plus 2 channels of SPDiF i/o and 2 channels of phono i/o and wordclock i/o. not very expensive and a good choice if you go digital.

using ADAT helps to keep audio in the digital domain and reduce the number of cables in the studio. i use a digital mixer (mackie d8b) so i can take 16 tracks from my DAW, route them out to mix them in the mackie, and route them back to record them onto 16 audio tracks in the DAW (cubase), in realtime!

i dont have the ADAT option on my 4000, so its hooked up to the mackie board using the 8 outs. once the audio hits the mackie d8b it is converted to a digital signal and recorded directly to cubase.
