Need help with correct connections

It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to hook this up. I bought the Lexicon Lambda thinking it would fix all of my problems. Can someone help me out?

I'm trying to sync reason and the midi controller with the MPC.

So I took the out of the Oxygen keyboard to the in of the MPC. I took the midi out of the MPC to the in of the Lexicon.

I then went to Reason, edit, preferences, and the Advanced midi. I switched it to Lexicon USB. Just like in Sparq's video. Why can't but I can't get this to work.

Am I hooking up something wrong here? Please help. I also want to be able to track everything in to Cubase.

This is getting very frusturating not being able to get my connections correct.

Is there a place in Reason to change the MIDI sync properties? Possibly all you've done to date is to tell Reason to use the Lexicon as a MIDI input device. TBH, I'm guessing since I don't actually own Reason , but from your description it sounds like you might not have taken that step.

If you eventually want to track out into Cubase, then you'll need to make audio connections from the MPC to the audio ins of the Lexicon.

and what you need to do is go into reason and look at the option that's like external controllers or w/e
and put in the option for "other"
as well as the option for your keyboard model. you dig me?

try that and you'll be able to trigger reason sounds from your mpc. you should already be able to do it with your keyboard via usb.

It's hard to be patient when you spend 200 $ and you expect something to work, to go home and think I have the right connections and it not work.

what exactly did you find was the problem and how did you fix it.

I just switched a couple of things in the Reason settings. I had everything plugged in correctly. I went to Preferences and Audio and switch that up and that was the main problem. I'm still struggling with it because it seems like the timing is still a little off even with the Lambda.

However, I am using 2 seperate things of speakers becuase I can't afford monitors right now. Think that could be the case?

Most likely your 'slightly off' timing is due to latency in Reason - see if you can adjust that to be lower...
