questions about saving to flashcard and to PC/MAC

first off what do you guys prefer to work with, PC or MAC?

for the purpose of this post- i was thinking how do you save on an MPC1000, im familiar with the disks on the 2k, and my assumption is that the flash replace the floppy's/zips

regardless if they replace the disks or not, can i contstruct tracks without using a flashcard at all (just for this scenario) and then load the parts of the tracks (bassline/kick/snare/theme/etc...) on MPC from PC/MAC.

so if im making a track and dont want to save it on flash can i send it to computer. then say in a month from now, load it back to MPC, so basicly i use my PC/MAC for extra storage?

and lets say i have a finished track, from start to end, it's done. can i store it to my computer? and if i want to record it how would i go about doing that? would i hacve to load it to MPC, then send it to a recording device from my mpc? or once it's on my computer is there a way i can burn it to a CD for listening? and what is the file that MPC saves as on your computer? for example- .MP3, .WAV. AIFF . RM?

I use PC, but I think MACs are a bit better. Anyways, I think is more a question of, what you have at home.

No, you cannot bypass the CF card. Basicaly, all the transfers are done through the CF card. From computer by USB it goes to the CF card, not the MPC memory.

MPC1000 uses WAV, but you can't save your whole song as one file on your MPC. (Actually you can do it by using resampling, but IMO it is not a good way of doing it). Anyways, to transfer a finished song to your computer, you have to use the MPC outputs, and at the same time record on your computer. From there, you can save it in which ever format you like: wav, mp3, rm...

to save a song, I use the digital-outs of the MPC to
record it digitally to my Logic Audio...
In that way, you have an exact copy of your tracks (digital, stable volume)
which behaves like saving "real" *.wav's...

how do you record digitally? isn't there only one digital out? like a mono or something? i dont think i understand that either

SOLO 1 track at a time if you want your tracks recorded seperately on the PC via digital.
