New 1k newb a few questions

finally got my 1k off ebay for 600 128 ram, flash card, a few questions

1. Where does it say the os number?

2. I am trying to load samples into a program manually on the 1k and save it but the samples erase when i load the program again, is there something im missing?

3. I tried to download bluebox off the site, but for some reason it says corrupted file when i try to install it and it wont install, did someone download this recently online and get it to install? If you did please send me a copy of it to my email [email protected]

The interface is really cool and I love making a beat on Guru or Acid and then plugging in the 1k and adding stuff over the beat definately a helpful machine.

1) The OS is displayed when you boot the machine, I believe. If not, I think you can find it under the MISC functions (pad+9, I think).

2) When saving a program, make sure you save it with the samples, this is an option in the save screen.

3) Not sure - you are running a PC, right? Try downloading the file again.

If you don't have it, I'd highly recommend going to the Support section of www.akaipro.com and downloading the manual from there, and giving it a read through. Lots of good info in there on pretty much everything the 1K can do.

i got bluebox and os 2.1 on here now so program making is easy
the only problem i got now is that the lame sequences that loaded from os 2.1 installation keep coming back. I erased them all once and then turned it off and on and they are back? How do you unlock that stuff?

You need to delete them from the on-board flash memory, or at least tell the MPC not to autoload the contents of the flash (I think you can do that - if not, clearing the flash is the way to go). Check the manual on how to do both of those things.

The flash memory that I'm talking about here is the MPC's internal flash - NOT your external CF card that you're putting in the CF slot.
