ok
so after spending most of my life on the net researching on the Akai MPC 2000XL and the MPC 1000, i decided on the 2000XL! with numerous posts concerning Zip drives, SCSI hardrives, USB adapters, etc etc! and for a while i was convinced! its changed now.........
i went to an open day at the University/College im gunna start my HND in Music Tech at, and the teachers managed to spend about 3 hours convincing me that software and mixing on the computer is the way foward, and i have to say, im convinced now!
seeing as i have a pretty good comp (2.6GHZ) and a copy of Cubase 5 it seems a shame to put them to waste! so my plan has changed
im gunna (drum roll) go cop an MPC 1000! basically, beacuse it seems like its going to suit a Computer/Software based setup much more happily than an MPC 2000XL! cuz of USB, flash, compactability, etc etc!!!!!! so im gunna be laying down grooves/beats with my baby MPC1000, getting tunes/melodies/tones/sounds whatever from my keyboard and then importing them into Cubase for sequencing etc, and/or SoundForge 6.0 for editing!!!!!!! (phew)
so only two more weeks till i bang it on down to London, then bang it on hom with ma MPC1000 then bang out some beats!!!
im going to bed, its been a long day
peace
