decay in step edit?

does anyone know what the #'s correspond to when editing a note's decay time in step edit?

i'm used to DP, in there you can set a note's decay to a whole note, 8th note triplet, etc.. or you can do it in samples (like 44,100 would equal a one second decay), or in real time

on the mpc is the decay value in milliseconds? is it arbitrary?

if your taling about the "D" column in step edit,
I think it is for duration, and the numbers are
ticks...I.E. 96ticks = a quarter note
so I had a loop I wanted to make play for exactly
2 bars, to I set the D column to 768..works perfect

yeah! that's the easy way to describe it. why didnt i think of just saying that?
