Trouble With Tracking

this dude i work with let me borrow is Mbox to track some of my beats out. I have everything setup correctly. Mix out 1 is going to line 1 and mix out 2 is going to line 2 on the mbox. but the problem is when i record it in ableton i get this sort of distorted delayed sound when it comes out. it doesn't sound like this when its just coming out of the mpc and its not because its clipping. Does anyone know?

My guess is you need to set up the midi time clock?....That keeps it synced with the DAW....Also; Ableton has a auto-timestretching feature that shrinks or expands any song imported into it to what the set tempo in Live is....If your beat is set to a different tempo then the tempo in Live and then you record into it - it may sound wierd. (these are just educated guesses tho)

nah yo it was midid up to ableton. I tried switching to the line instead and i dont get any sound that way. It's really weird.

Maybe you are hearing the MPC playing back at the same time your recording is playing back? Try turning the volume of the MPC down or muting the input on the MBox.

I'll get the same thing you describe in Sonar if I don't mute the input.
