Ok Im new, so please dont grill me to hard please. I have recently checked out the chopping video on youtube and I love it. However...........

Im havign an issue with after I chop it and send it to the pads, when I go to the next track to record on top of what I played......when I hit the pads........ it mutes what I played on the chop on track one. How do I fix that to where the chops on track 1 play when Im hitting pads on track 2.

Take a look in program mode - check to see if your program is 'Mono' overall; that means 'monophonic', and only one pad will play at once. Change that to 'Poly' (polyphonic) and you'll have what you're after.

I'm assuming that the program you're using on track 1 and track 2 is the same program, right?

Yo what up..I see that u already got an answer.but that wont help u out if your trying to do a preemo type joint with the stutter chops. If u go and change the prigram to poly then the 1st track u laid wont sound the same- the chops will now overlap eachother. If tis is what ur after. heres my advice u....Make a copy of the program( highlight program on the main screen and press window-then hit theF(soft Key) that corre3sponds to the copy option. Press that. then go into the original program and make it MONO then go to the copied PGM and select POLY-Then go thru each pad individually and select either poly or mon depending on what u tryin to do. Hope that helps.Peace and Hot Fish grease............. :?

it may be worth your time to check out 'mute groups' in the manual as it could explain the feature better than i could. but bassicaly mute groups let you cut sounds when the pad is hit a second time. for example, in real life you wouldn't have a polyphonic kick drum, so for your kicks on the mpc you could set each kick to mute eachother. so if pads 1/2/3/4 were all kicks and assigned to the same mute group hitting pad 2 would mute any instance of 1/2/3/4.

horribly explained, check out the manual.. this feature is essential imo.
