EFX HELP!!! ECHO???

How do u make a sound echo with the MPC1000? I cant seem to figure out how to do this and/or locate the effect that can do this.

For example, i want the sound to automatically repeat itself, while fading out with each repetition and to also be able to control the Tempo of repetition.

How do i make this echo effect?

Thanks Cap... but i dont see anythin that says delay.

Under the select efx window, all i see is:

OFF
CHORUS
FLANGER
BIT GRUNGER
4 Band EQ
COMPRESSOR
Phase Shifter
Tremelo
Flying Pan
Reverb


Where do i find "Delay"?

Which version of the OS do you have? Delay was only introduced into the effects 2 category after version 2.0, I think. If you're running version 2 or greater, make sure you're looking at the list under 'effect 2' rather than 'effect 1'.

Also, for a more flexible delay effect, you could just program it as a sequence of notes at the spacing you like, adjusting the note velocity for each note of the 'delay' sequence. You have lots of control when you do that, although it's more time consuming to set up.

i never updated the OS on the MPC.... so i guess i have original software still loaded.

Where do i update and how do i so?

ok.. i did it. But now i got a problem with the Midi using OS 3. When i put the MIDI setting to "1A", (to record the MIDI to my computer), and press the note on the MPC, the MIDI just keeps repeating itself over and over. It only stops doing that when i turn the MIDI setting to "OFF".

How do i fix this?
