im curious, can i plug a midi controller into my mpc1000 and use it to trigger samples, say for a bassline since i have better time on a keyboard doing that? Just a basic usb 49key midi controller which has a midi out. thanks for the help

no, you can not play the mpc like a keyboard across a keyrange with the same sound. you have to make a complex program with each pad designated to specific note key, then save prog. then apply sample/sound to program and play. Just plugging in a midi kybrd to the MPC will only allow you to trigger one sound at a time-- only one key on yer keyboard will play sound per pad assigned, but not in entire range of notes. it will be just like triggering sound from mpc.
