What's your Mater Level setup?

do you use 0 DB or stay in -6Db?

I think mine's set to -6 or -3. The potential issue with using 0dB is that you might get clipping at the output stages if you have a lot of high-volume samples playing simultaneously.

infact i go into distorsion with 0

-3db?? how to do it? i feel step of only 6db

Ah. OK, I was getting confused, it must be my S3000XL that allows 3dB steps. I must have my MPC at either -12 or -6.

yea i get no distortion and a mpc dont clip ur mixer will

no no clip is in mpc

infact should be cool 3db step

of course it depends from the sample... but must of mine, or if u normalize something, i often go into distorsion with a loto of hits at the same time

The MPC can certainly clip, both in the digital domain (for that nasty digital clipping sound) and also in the DA converter too.

That's why the Master Level control is in there, and that's why it's in the Akai S-series of samplers too.

I leave mine at -12db... helps when i track in/mixdown/compress on the d3200 8)
