My question is, I'm wondering how the rest of y'all gitdown on ur MPC....When it comes to chops other than drums-like if i chop a loop from a Temptations joint and i'm going to flip it, I leave the pads set to ONESHOT(i only use NoteOn for looping a sample, sustain samples, some basslines, or if i just want to use 3/4 of a long sample, but still need the entire sample). The Pgm Play mode to MONO, (so the individual pad voice overlap settings dont matter). I was just intrested and curious to see how everyone else sets up there programs. Drums-PGM-POLY (unless its a break that doesnt sound good in single hits-i chop em into 2 hits a sample-then i PGM MONO) and the individual pad VOICE OVRLP- Kicks and snares i set to MONO. Cymbals-for the most part i set to POLY, some i set to mono. Bass programs-usually set the whole program MONO. How do u cats gitdown??

hmmm.. i'm a new cat.. soo...

for my samples I leave it on the one that as soon as you let go of it, it stops playin...

the other i don't like cuz as soon as you press it you have to wait for the entire sample to play.. otherwise if its too long i jus hit mode/load and that seems to cut it off...

but doing it my way i don't know if its the best way? cuz i ahve noticed that if i hit play anywhere other then 00.00.00 the sample willnot play at all.. i.e. if i go to the 2nd bar of my 4 or 8 bar sample and hit play my sample will not play...

I wish it was a way where you could preview your samples instead of havin to load them then Discard cuz you realize it don't fit the beat..

on the original mpc 1k os is it a way you can chop a sample and put it across the pads? shoot is that even possible at all regardless of OS?

i'ma hit the manual again tonight to see whats up...
