MPC 1000 & Cubase

Though I know the following could be done in the "search" section, just how wasn't explained. I want to implement both the mpc 1000 & my computer based sequencer. What I would like to do is sequence my basic tracks on the mpc 1000 and eventually bounce them over to Cubase. What are the steps I need to do in order to accomplish this? Since the 1000 doesn't have mtc can anyone give me any suggestions on the easiest way get everything in sync? Will it require alot of patching and un-patching cables and/or midi cables? This is all new to me so I appreciate your help.

I've been unable to drive Cubase's sequencer via the MPC, so what I've had to do is enable MIDI thru in Cubase, sequence all my tracks (hardware, software, etc) on the MPC routing MIDI through Cubase (you'll have to set up appropriate MIDI tracks in the program) and when I'm ready to muck it up in Cubase or add further tracks, I save the .mid to CF and import to Cubase. Delete the track that says MPC 1000 or whatever, and the rest are gold.

Quite simple, really, and doesn't involve having to record/sync the MPC to Cubase for recording MIDI. (which won't work in my experience as the MPC sends extra data that will fudge any track you record from it) You could still drive the MPC1k as a separate synced sequencer via Cubase's own clock signal, simply enable sync in on the MPC and mute all the MIDI tracks, disable the receiving of them in Cubase, etc. This way you can still drop drum tracks from the MPC directly. Of course you may prefer to resample your drumloops and drop them into Cubase directly from CF. Whatever works for you.
