My buddy and I wanna do some dj radar type stuff with our turntables - scratch a pattern and record it live, then overdub the next pattern over it, and so on...

I thought the MPC could do this with a footswitch, but I'm looking at the manual and it looks like the footswitch doesn't control the MODE:Record functionality - only the rec/play and overdub type stuff.

Can somebody confirm or deny this?

There's 2 footswitch inputs. What you could try is put the MPC in Mode:Record, then assign FS1 to "F6", which when in record mode is "Record"/"Start"/"Stop". Then use FS2 to be "F4", which would be "Play". That'd work for 1 sample at a time.

Beyond that, I don't think you could overdub into the same sample, you'd need to touch the MPC some to get various samples onto different pads.

MoFX's Repeater would be the best thing for what you wanna do, though.
