Question About Midi/Controllers/Sound Cards

Once again i have a question'
I have an mpc1000 and a yamaha dx11 keyboard and cakewalk sonar 6, i havent set anything up yet but i would like to no one thing, in order to make all these work together, will a Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro Sound Card work or do i need a Midi Interface.....Im sorta new to this whole thing so any tips will help out alot!

You will be able to produce using that sound card although there are better sound cards to be had.

I am almost positive that the MIDI connection is a cable that plugs into the port on the bottom I/O edge of the sound card, at least that's how my old Sound Blaster worked.
