MPC1000 and CoolEdit/Audition's MIDI Triggers?

Has anyone gotten this to work?

I've tried just about every combo I can think of and when I'm in the Shortcuts (Keyboard & MIDI Triggers) screen I can't get a MIDI note to assign to a command. In my case I'm trying to get the Record/Pause toggle set to something/ANYTHING. I have my MPC hooked up to my MIDI ports properly because I can trigger playback on the MPC from another sequencer application. I have the MPC sync settings set as follows:

Sync in: 1
Sync out: A (I realize this doesn't matter for what I'm trying to do)

Has anyone done this? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Dude, just get some footswitches man!!!

Assign them all over the place!

Can you elaborate?

By the headphone jack, two footswitch inputs, get some hosa fsc 502 footswitches and assign them to play/stop and overdub on off.

hit the switch and you're in hands free mode!!

Check out the footswitch assignment screen and see all the options.

Guess I should've explained my goal a bit better. I want to be able to trigger record mode in CoolEdit when I hit play on the mpc. that way, I should be able to sync up pretty well. not just looking to be hands free.

i've been trying to do the same thing and have had no luck.

I tried to get it to work for several days and finally gave up. If any of you figure it out..please let me know.
