maxed out mpc1000 with a s950 what do ya'll think about that

what do ya'll think about a maxed out mpc 1000 with an 100gb hard drive 128 memory black case with a s950 just for drums samples

i would have to say the s5000 is million times better with that massive screen and the hard drive and the usb connectivity and all those outputs. damn....wanna buy one? oh yeah and the max out memory damn, its the SH*T i think thats the greatest damn im cool

I have the mpc1000 and s950 as well.
The mpc1000 is maxxed out with the EXM-128 ram and an 80gb hdd.
The s950 is maxxed out with 2.25mb ram. No SCSI. That's rare, but I don't need it. Saving the entire memory on a maxxed out s950 only requires 3 floppy discs, so that's not a problem.

I like the sound of the s950 for certain drums, loops, and other samples, as well as having 8 outputs.
Between both units, my sampling needs are met with much satisfaction.
If you like the sound of the mpc60, then the s950 is a very good companion to the mpc1000. Plus the s950 is a full-fledged sampler which has more functionality than the mpc60's sampling capabilities. For the price of an s950, you can't go wrong. I highly recommend it.

i know there are situations where they'd be needed, but something about 8 outputs on a machine w/ 2 meg memory MAXED makes me smile

If he is using the S950 for drums, 2 MBs is plenty for a drum kit.....and having the 8 outs to route his drum sounds is essential for easily recording and mixing his tracks....especially since the 1000 has a limited number of outputs. Those outputs can not be used to route other types of samples.
