Been going round and round, loaded in a sample and just want to assign it a midi note so I can trigger it from an outside drum pad, totally forgot where this is. I did assign it to a pad that has a midi number, but the number does not seem to trigger it. thanks for the help

are you hooking a controler to the MPC... Hit the MIDI button in the program srceen... those should be a note to go with the pad assign... what happened with your foot switch deal?

Thanks for the response. The footswitch only works when using a combo of two pedals to get done what I need.

As far as the samples go, what happens if I import via the computer a sample, load it and when it asks for a pad assign, I put off. How and where do I assign the sample a midi note number so I can trigger it via my Drum Kat? I know about the pad assign, but does this mean you can only have 64 samples at once? I thought there was a way to assign a sample a midi note without using the pad assign/midi note page.

in a nutshell yes 64 at one time... for a program... try making a new program with a different track (with a different ch) ... if you don't you'll have midi conflicts... that would be my work around ...
