MPC 1000 pads dont work! help!

hello people of the forum, ive got to spring this in the air cause this giving me a severe head ache !?

i got an MPC1000, 6months old now, i got brand new...
its being frequently used of the last 4months.

When i switched on my mpc today, everything loaded as normal. But when i went to load a program from the memory card, i hit mode button then pad2 (LOAD) nothing happened at all? no reponse. I tried to play drum kits that had pre loaded and nothing happened again. All the pads arent working at all, the rest of the machine is fine all the buttons and features work.
i can play the cheesey demos to. but just no pad action whats so ever.

I had a few magazines resting on top of it for 3-4 days this week, would this of the effectd the pads in anyway!?! i mean the magazines arent heavy..

well thats it, if anyone can shed some light or suggest any cures so i can get MPC back in action that would be very much appreciated!

I had the same problem, to me it's just that the menu's go where ever they want. I might push mode + trim and suddenly I end up in song mode or what ever. And nothing works after that.

I just sent my mpc back to the company I bought it from, hopefully they'll fix it or send me a new one. And I don't think a couple of magazines would have done anything to the pads...
