Hi, here's my problem. I have a 60 gb HD installed in the MPC1000, and I have now used up some 20 Gb of space on it. I want to backup the whole drive to my PC, erase the drive, clean up its contents using my PC and then copy it all back to the MPC drive for a fresh start without all the garbage that inevitably accumulated in one year of usage.
I've tried using Windows File manager to copy the harddrive contents over USB, but it is not copying well: it stops everytime there is a sample name it dislikes or finds that some samples/files are 'corrupted' and cannot be copied. But when I check them out they load/play perfectly well on the MPC, and I can also open them with soundforge from the PC (over USB) and save them on my PC harddrive so there's no real problem with them (not even long sample names dammit!).
To the point: Can anybody recommend a good application, possibly free, that allows to perform such a simple backup operation as copying a large folder, chock full of subfolders and files from one hard drive to another through USB without hiccups?
Thank you all in advance.
