EXM 128 Benefits

I just received my exm128 here at work - I'm curious what if any differences any one who has the EXM has noticed - Just curious because I've been getting by just fine with the 16mb - I got the EXM because I was able to get it cheap through work and figured what the hell, more is better than little right?

More samples, more recording time. Nothing special!

Like Lou said, it does not provide you with anything else, except extra space to load or record your samples. It all depends how long and how many samples you usein your tracks.

IMO, Akai should come up with other, smaller RAM chips. Like 32MB and 64MB. Then the user would have a choice. Like in my case, I dont need 128MB, but some times I feel restricted by 16MB. I would like to have an option to install 32MB. For me 32MB would be plenty enough, and it would be cheaper then 128MB. I don't feel like spending 150$ for 128MB, and using not even half of it.

HAHAHA just speed it up and you should be able to get the whole thing in there, and you'll get that really cool lo-fi sound too.

$35 bucks for 64meg.......

(it must take all day to load up 128 meg into memory, like if you lose power during a live set or something, it aint gonna be a quick recovery)

Honestly, I don't know what to do with all the memory...128 is ill. I had 64 on my old RS7000 and I never, never filled it up, and I would play a live set for about an hour. The only thing is I wish the MPC would have more than 24 Progams at a time...That way I could have a shitload of chopped up samples, a program at a time.

Hey, I've been writting 6, 7 minute tracks with just the 16mb - now I have a zillion times more memory - it was cheap so why not - and you know what - you never know when your going to need the other 112mb's - I might just sample the whole American Pimp DVD in one take -

BTW it loads the 128 just as fast as it loaded the 16mb -

TIGHT I need to get my 128 mb memory ram for my 1k mos def! So what if u dont use it all u kno its there if u do need it!
