ribbon cable

hi

my 1k can't see the internal harddrive even though the drive works perfectly and is correctly formatted. I guess the poxy ribbon cable connecting the HD to the board needs replacing. Anyone know a part number or place I can order this from without costing ££££££??

I guess its just a standard type of cable but I wouldn't even know what to aks for

so let me get something straight
do you think it's the hard drive adaptor or something on the board into which the adaptor plugs into which is giving you a hard time?

it could be a dodgy connector at either end but I had a similar problem with the cf reader losing connection and replacing the ribbon cable seems to have sorted it out so I assume that is the problem - the ribbon cables are fragile and badly made IMO. I got one of the first 1ks off the production line and have had a few little problems like this....

BTW the cf ribbon cable took 18 months to be delivered from Akai Japan via cimple solutions uk!! but if I know what I am looking for I guess I can buy one easily from maplin or radio shack?
