Sampling from Online/Web Radio

Does anyone sample from online/web radio for vocals, dialogue, etc., as opposed to sampling off a stand-alone shortwave radio? If so, could you explain how you go about it. For example: How to record into your PC from internet/web radio, pros and cons, etc...

I was all set to pick up a shortwave radio to sample off of when I heard someone say that you can get all those global radio stations online. He didn't know anything about recording or sampling, though.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it isn't the same, with sw you get those weird dialing squelches.

You could use something like Sound Recorder. It records anything (streaming audio etc.) That is going to your speakers to wav, mp3 etc.
