Hi

I just bought an MPC1000 second hand, it's in very good condition but I have a couple of problems..

1. The display was looking fine for the first 10mins of usage. But when I was performing a basic function (trimming a sample), the screen suddenly faded significantly until it is hardly visible. I tried switching off and back on but it's still faded.

2. Having recorded a sample from vinyl, when I play it back through the MPC, the sample has no hi end frequencies, like it's been pass through a high pass filter. All the EQ settings - ie Master etc seem to be off.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

1. maybe you accidentially changed the screen brightness, should be shift+jogwheel (on JJ OS its stop+wheel, cant remember what it was, should be in the manual)

2. Did you connect your turntable directly to your mpc? You have to have a preamp in between, like a dj mixer.

Hi

Thanks for replying.

Yeah I sorted out the screen brightness problem.

I have my turntable connected through a mixer - I also use this setup to record sounds into Logic on my computer and have never had this EQ problem. Any other suggestions?

Does the problem occur with other sources too? I know, stupid question since its running through the mixer, but i got no better idea... if its not the signal it has to be the jacks.
