Waste of USB

Akai,
Please update the USB with more functions, like being compatible with other USB devices such as CD drives and hardrives.

It is a BIG waste to only use the USB to make the MPC 1k a big A$$ compactflash Reader!

Amen. It's completely worthless right now.
The internal card reader doesn't seem as robust as I would have imagined and I'm often getting "Directory Error"s when trying to save to CFCs (several different brand new ones). It would be really nice to be able to dump the contents of RAM straight onto my desktop without saving to the card first.

unfortunately, akai put the wrong connector on the mpc1000 for it to be used with hard-drives or cd-rs. they could possibly make the ram from the mpc show up like the cf card. but anyother connection would result in a short....
